Blue and Yellow

Yellow is a young girl who became a Pokémon Trainer after encountering Red in Viridian Forest. She is kind and loves Pokémon but hates to see them hurt. Her kind nature extends towards both friends and strangers. Yellow has strange and mysterious powers that help her heal her Pokémon without the use of a Pokémon Center or potions. Yellow can speak with Pokémon using a form of telepathy and was able to help Red when no one else could. She has a unique relationship with all of the original Pokédex Holders and is the fourth trainer to join their ranks.

In the Kanto Region, the knowledge of Blue and Red’s final battle at the Indigo Plateau has become common. Therefore, when Yellow needs to become stronger to defeat the Elite Four she turns to the only person can compare to Red. Blue agrees to train Yellow because Red trusted her to take care of his Pikachu. What Blue doesn’t realize is how hard it will be for him to train Yellow. Yellow doesn’t know the basics of catching and battling Pokémon and all of her Pokémon were given to her. She nearly has a breakdown when one of her Pokémon evolves because she thinks it won't be the same Pokémon she raised.

Blue respects Yellow for her strength of heart and ability to do come through in a tight spot when she normally can’t even hurt a Pokémon. Yellow respects Blue for his ability to match Red in battle. Overall, however, Blue and Yellow are too different in their styles and Yellow leaves to train alone because Blue’s methods are too harsh for her.
