Red versus Blue
Red is Blue’s best friend and rival. Red is always outgoing and loves to meet new people; however his eagerness often leads him to become reckless which lands him in trouble. Red is a master Pokémon trainer who often ends up the target of Team Rocket and other enemy groups. It's only through his never say die attitude is he able to come out on top, as far as personalities go Red and Blue polar opposites.
Blue and Red first met in the forest when they both attempted to catch the same Mew. From the first time they saw each other they became bitter rivals who couldn’t stand to be in the presence of one another. Blue found Red to be an amateur who couldn’t handle himself in a battle. Red on the other hand, found Blue to be over confident and a bit of a know it all. Despite their differences their fates seem to be constantly intertwined and they often encounter each other during key points in the series. They meet outside of Celadon City, in Lavender Town's Tower and several other places throughout the series.
Blue and Red eventually bond through their mutual love for Pokémon and battling and they become close friends. They learn about each other's style when their Pokémon get switched up outside of Viridian City. They learn from their differences in training style and pick up some of the best traits possible from each other. From experiences with Red, Blue is able to learn to accept people into his life and work as part of a team while Red learns how to think before he acts from Blue. The two of them become closer then brothers but that doesn’t mean that they’ve given up their rivalry. Blue and Red are only ones who can fight at the same level. They fight and train together doing their time in the Sevii Islands while tracking Deoxys. The time they spend there helps to draw them together and they become so close that they would do almost anything for each other. Blue even takes the time to find a spring that can heal the injuries that Red recieved from the Eltie Four and even helps Red live out his dream of becoming a gym leader. Red always helps Blue out when he’s in a pinch and makes sure they are always even with each other's debts.
